John Lennon’s Bloody Glasses

Good Morning !!! Did you know that after almost 33 years of John Lennon’s untimely death nothing has changed.  People still get shot everyday around the world and sadly we didn’t learn a thing.

John was fatally shot in the back four times in front of the Dakota Building in New York city back in December 8 1980.

In order to raise even more awareness, his widow Yoko Ono tweeted 4 tweets from her account all linking back to an image showing Lennon’s glasses that he was wearing when he was shot.

There is a saying that states “If we were all a little bit more like John Lennon, then the world will be a better place”.  All John wanted was to promote peace in the world and he ended being shot down in front of his wife.

Each tweet had a different message or fact about promoting peace and ending gun violence :

• “Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980.”
• “31,537 people are killed by guns in the USA every year. We are turning this beautiful country into war zone.”
• “Together, let’s bring back America, the green land of peace.”
• “The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him. Yoko Ono Lennon”
